Description
Degatide 80 Injection is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. It works by lowering the amount of testosterone produced in the body and restricts the growth of a cancer cell. Degatide 80 Injection is given as an injection under the skin only under the supervision of a doctor. Do not try to self inject the medicine as it might enhance the chances of an accident or get injected into the veins. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. The most common side effects of this medicine include Injection site reactions (pain, swelling, redness), weight gain, hot flashes, increased liver enzyme, and low sexual desire. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. If you notice dizziness or trouble sleeping, then better to avoid driving or machinery work. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had heart disease, or diabetes or liver disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor may check for prostate specific antigen (PSA) level in your blood, to know treatment is working or not.
Introduction
In Prostate cancer Prostate gland is a small walnut-sized gland that produces a fluid called seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperms in males. The most common symptom of prostate cancer is difficulty with urination, but sometimes there are no symptoms at all. Degatide 80 Injection decreases or stops the growth of cancer cells by decreasing the amount of testosterone (natural hormone in males) in men. This also relieves difficulty in passing urine and makes it easier for you to urinate.

Degatide 80 Injection lowers the amount of testosterone (a male hormone) produced by the body. This may slow or stop the spread and growth of prostate cancer cells that need testosterone to grow.

Please consult your doctor. - Pregnancy : UNSAFE - Degatide 80 Injection is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby. - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Information regarding the use of Degatide 80 Injection during breastfeeding is not available. Please consult your doctor. - Driving : UNSAFE - Degatide 80 Injection may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. - Kidney : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - There is limited information available on the use of Degatide 80 Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor. A cautious use of Degatide 80 Injection is advised in patients with severe kidney disease. - Liver : CAUTION - Degatide 80 Injection should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Degatide 80 Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor. No dose adjustment is recommended for patients with mild to moderate liver disease. Regular monitoring of testosterone levels is advised.
